This year was very tough after losing my mother.
I was worried about Christmas being ruined because of financial issues, but thanks to this program, I was able to get some gifts for my child and siblings.
I’m in my 30s and with a kid, so that used to make me feel alienated in a college setting but this event makes me feel like I belong.
It lowered the stress of getting my daughter a little something when I’m so focused on finals. It’s been a sweet experience for me.
This has been huge for us to save money at the holidays, especially given our very tight financial situation.
The kids loved all the gifts they have received.
We are very very grateful for this!
For the past two years, the generosity of the Holidays for Little Huskers program has helped me provide things on my child's wish list, as well as some essential items, too.
I hope you all know this program means a lot to single parents/student parents like me.
THANK YOU!
Without the HFLH program, our Christmas might not exist at all.
It helps take away some of the guilt and pressure, especially in a month that is already stressful with final exams.
I appreciate the kindness and know someday I will pay the generosity forward.
[Holiday for Little Huskers] helped me not worry about working more shifts at work to provide a gift for my child.
It’s helped me focus more on school as well.
Our son was so excited to have the amazing gifts.
My spouse and I are both students and this experience was meaningful for us.
I had my kids' wish lists come true.
This program supports students with families, easing the financial pressure [and] spreading happiness.
We immensely like it!
This program is a blessing to our family for sure. Budgets are always crazy tight being a student with kiddos and the gifts are always so nice and generous.
Thank You!!!
It is challenging being a student and parent at the same time.
This program motivated us as we felt our kids were included in the university community.
As a PhD student mother with two kids, I am highly appreciative of UNL's support.
My daughter is 11 years old and she was so happy to feel that UNL thought about the [kids of students].
